St. Petersburg, 1910. The scientific progress of the new century comes closer, however, human nature does not change along with progress - still, people take each other's lives, sometimes in the most terrible and incredible ways. Every time the metropolitan police cannot cope with another terrible murder along with all its modern equipment while there is already fingerprinting, and much more and this is where the 40-year-old professor of medicine Voskresensky is called to help. The cases that Voskresensky investigates for eight episodes are the most inexplicable and terrible.
